A cornerstone of Adelaide’s Mad March for decades, music festival WOMAD has been bringing thousands to Adelaide’s botanic park for a long weekend of music, dance, workshops and talks, showcasing a range of international and national artists.

Two years ago, WOMADelaide joined forces with Adelaide notherrn suburbs youth music and creative industries facility Northern Sound System to launch artist development initiative NSS Academy.

The Academy supports emerging First Nations and culturally diverse artists to develop their practice. As part of this, every year, two artists are selected to be featured in the WOMAD program. We hear from one of the selected artists this year, Taiaha Ngawiki ahead of his set on Monday.
