In a time of extreme temperatures and eroding coastlines, climate change has emerged as one of the greatest threats to humankind. Yet fear and frustration, coupled with misleading headlines and wavering politicians mean we are hesitant to act on this pressing issue. CEO of CLIMARTE and one of the editors of ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE, Guy Abrahams says artists can prick public conscience on personal level about the individual and societal impact of climate change. ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE presents the work of Australian and international artists as they explore the far-reaching consequences of mass consumption, pollution and depleting resources as part of the 2015 ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE festival, a biennial event the Huffington Post called one of the TOP 10 climate events for 2015.
