Arnott’s make commitment to source ethically produced cocoa

This Easter, chocolate eggs will bring joy to millions of children across the country. But in West Africa, tens of thousands of children are trafficked from nearby poor countries and forced to work on cocoa plantations to supply chocolate to countries like Australia. Today Arrnott’s have announced a commitment to ensuring their chocolate based products, like the iconic Tim Tam biscuit, is made from ethically sourced cocoa. But achieving Fairtrade Certification does not necessarily make a direct difference to the people being exploited in areas like West Africa. It has also been claimed that the Fairtrade label is misleading to consumers.
