A 75-year-old pearl diver from Horn Island has been awarded one of the Australian Music Industry’s highest accolades. Just four years after he first stepped into a recording studio, Seaman Dan’s salt-water soaked CD Perfect Pearl was named Best World Music Album in the ARIA awards held at NSW Government House last night. The well-travelled sea-dog with laughter in his voice seems happy to just take success as it comes.
