While we may think we are generally accepting of other cultures, and most of us have an anti-racism attitude, it’s a different story when it comes to actually integrating these groups into society. According to a recent study, over forty per-cent of Australians feel cultural difference can pose a threat to the societal harmony. Professor Kevin Dunn from the University of Western Sydney has been tracking Australian’s attitudes and experiences like these over the past eleven years, and will be presenting his findings at a lecture tonight. Professor Dunn says that age plays a big factor in the way people think about issues like racism.
