Each night, 100,000 Australians are homeless – and half of those are under 24 years-old. But some advocacy groups say that concentrating on the young homeless ignores an equally vunerable sector of our community – the elderly ‘Our place’ is a support centre that feeds hundreds of Sydney’s low income and homeless each week and connects them with relevant services. General manager Sue Steadman believes the figures are incorrectly skewed towards the young.
