The Burmese Junta receives financial contributions from Australian companies through trade relations. Burma Campaign Australia and the ACTU say Australian companies contribute around $3 billion annually to the military regime and have called for end to all trade ties. Budget airline Jetstar has come under particular scrutiny because it runs four flights a week to Burma. However the airline denied it has acted unethically. Would economic isolation sound the death knell for the Junta?
