New research from the US reports there are 3.04 trillion trees planted on Earth. A figure 8 times more than what is currently estimated. But 11,000 years ago, there were more than six trillion. Human activity is the main reason for deforestation, and Australia could be worse if it doesn’t enforce stronger policies to prevent the decline of our tree population.
