Doctors and medical staff treat injured rebel fighters in Aleppo

In the last five and half years, Syrian hospital workers have had to contend with their fair share of horrors. With no sign of the conflict in the region ending, these front line medics would be forgiven for thinking they had seen it all. But recent medical trend has doctors worried. Patients all over Syria are showing up in hospitals with an increased resistance to antibiotics.

The Wire’s Michael Migali spoke to infectious diseases expert Dr. Sanjaya Senanayake from ANU, to find out the cause of this alarming trend.
