Anthony Albanese has spent his first full day in his new role as leader of the Australian Labor Party in Queensland, looking to reconnect with voters who turned away from the party during the recent federal election.

He has also questioned the economics behind the Adani Coal Mine, but admitted that the protest convoy was “unproductive”.
