Animal law
While discussions about animal welfare and animals rights have a long history in Australia , that idea of animal law is very new. But organizers of Australia ’s first animal law conference hope that is about to change. Hosted by the NSW Young Lawyers Animal Rights Committee, the conference entitled “The Future of Animal Law in Australia” featured panel discussions and presentations by some of the key animal rights and welfare organizations across Australia, as well as academics and lawyers involved in teaching Animal law in University courses and working in pro bono animal law cases. Angela Radich, Chair of the NSW Young Lawyers Animal Rights Committee, explained why they decided to organize the conference.
