Coal prices are dropping globally and environmental concerns over the Abbot Point coal terminal expansion continue to build. Anglo American has now joined the likes of BHP, Rio Tinto and Lend Lease in withdrawing from the project. Expansion of coal ports that are still not operating at full efficiency is being labelled as economically unviable and environmentally disastrous to The Great Barrier Reef.
