A series of violent attacks, especially the murder of four young children by their mother in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea, has shocked the PNG community and led Attorney General Dr Alan Marat to consider revising existing regulations on the death penalty. But the decision has angered human rights groups who are calling on the government to abolish, rather than extend the death penalty.
