An end to the Pacific Solution, but is it enough?

The last 21 remaining refugees left Nauru for Australia today, to be settled here with visas. The closing of this off shore detention centre is being heralded as the official end to the Howard Governments so-called “Pacific Solution”but processing will continue on Christmas Island without a review. National Coordinator of A Just Australia, Kate Gauthier says there needs to be a review of processing. Democrat Queensland Senator Andrew Bartlett has been to Nauru and says a change in law is needed so that type of detention won’t happen again.
