Amnesty hands down Guantanamo report
A report released today by human rights group Amnesty International has shed new light on some of the appalling conditions at the Guantanamo Bay military installation. The report reveals that 500 plus men detained at the Cuba installation are suffering mental and physical problem similar to detainees at Australia’s notorious refugee detention centers. With unknown years of detention stretching ahead of them, many are claimed to be contemplating suicide The report also reveals the ex-detainees will continue to suffer torment and stigmatization back to their home countries. Amnesty International’s Katie Wood joined the Wire team live to discuss the issue.
