Since the overdose death of a seventeen year old girl at last weekend’s Perth Big Day Out blame has been laid on almost everyone involved, from the police to the girl herself, with little discussion devoted to how to prevent such an incident in the future. The idea of having amnesty boxes at music festivals for people to dispose of drugs in a safe way was suggested by a talk back caller and has drawn support from both the Western Australian Police Commissioner and youth groups.
