Aid as a Tool of War
America’s weaponry no longer takes the shape of Cluster bombs or smart bombs nor of depleted uranium shells or ‘special operation forces’. Instead, it has adopted a new guise, namely that of International Aid. During both the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, The Pentagon offered funding to aid agencies on the condition that they follow the lead of the American Military. Sarah Morris spoke to Chris Daily of Medecins Sans Frontieres (also known as Doctors Without Borders). She asked him whether Aid and Humanitarian Agencies can escape being used, either as a matter of perception or reality, by political giants like America.
