Aged Care facilities found wanting

Shocking levels of mistreatment were found over the weekend as 260,000 nurses did an audit of Queensland’s aged care facilities.

Federal Aged Care services Minister Ken Wyatt is going to appoint an independent commissioner to help regulate large multinational corporations who appear to have been gaming the inspection system.  Nursing and Midwifery Federation Secretary Annie Butler says that profits from Government subsidies have been moved overseas while residents are left untended.
