The federal government has called a summit after allegations four women aged in their 90s were sexually abused by a male staff member in a Victorian nursing home last year. Federal Minister for Ageing, Senator SANTO SANTORO hopes to create a plan to help eliminate the abuse of the elderly within Australia’s aged care facilities. The Wire Team spoke to CHRIS PROCOPIS, manager for the Older Person’s programs at Lifeline Brisbane on her thoughts on the current system and Mr. SANTORO’s proposal.
