There are reports today that Indian coal giant Adani has halted plans to continue mining in the Galilee Basin raising the Queensland communities hopes that the project will stop altogether. The coal mine has brought with it many complications to the environment and therefore tourism within the state. Environmentalists hope the project will become a closed book, but the Queensland government looks set to continue with the controversial dredging of Abbott Point.
