Hidden documents and a series of emails have been released revealing alterations between Adani and the Queensland Government to grant the company a temporary pollution license.
Coordinator of environmental NGO, Mackay Conservation Group, Peter McCallun says Adani breached the license and the Queensland Government knew that more than 100 mg of coal-laden water per litre will spill into the ocean and the Great Barrier Reef.
Experts say damaging the Great Barrier Reef will not only affect biodiversity, but also the Australian economy and tourism industry.
