Activists sentenced for theft of whale meat

Today the ‘Tokyo Two’, Greenpeace employees Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki, were convicted of the crimes of trespass and theft of whale meat. The decision by the Japanese court saw the two activists given suspended one year sentences. Greenpeace has labeled the decision unjust and mounted an appeal accusing the Japanese government of a politically motivated cover up.
