This week, The Wire covered the Federal government appointed eight Ambassadors for International Day of People With Disabilities.

Human rights activist and Khadija Gbla  is one of them with an insightful story to share.

She came to Australia as a refugee at the age of 13 from  Sierra Leone, in West Africa. She is now a renowned speaker, human rights activist and compassionate thought leader.

Powerd Media’s reporter Emma Myers asked Khadija Gbla  about her own experience of female genital mutilation and living with chronic pain, while actively working to eliminate the practice.
