The silent epidemic: Endometriosis inflicts long-term, severe and chronic pain on no less than 700,000 women in Australia. Many sufferers go for years without diagnosis, forced to navigate workplace anxiety, relationship issues and sacrifice their general wellbeing at the hands of the cruel and limiting disorder.
Health Minister Greg Hunt will join medical experts at the Council of Australian Governments meeting later this week to discuss a proposed National Action Plan.
The plan proposes priority areas to improve the lives of Australian women and girls who live with endometriosis: awareness and education, clinical management and research.
