As gay couples in Canberra prepare for wedding bells Australia’s High Court today began hearing the Commonwealth’s challenge to the ACT’s same-sex marriage laws. If given the thumbs up, will the law pave the way for states to legalise gay marriage? Or will the ACT fly the rainbow flag alone?
