The abortion pill mifepristone will now be more readily available, after being approved for wider distribution. Better known as RU486, the drug has been a source of controversy since it’s legalisation in 2006. In the controversial debate of pro-life versus pro-choice, abortion pills like RU486 have not escaped scrutiny. But now, after rigorous quality and safety testing, the drug mifepristone has been registered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
