Aboriginal sovereignty group contests Security Council seat

It’s been a big week for our country on the international stage, with Australia winning a seat on the United Nations Security Council. But not everyone’s happy. Founder of the Sovereign Union of the First Nations and Peoples of Australia, Michael Anderson, believes Australia doesn’t deserve the seat because of its poor human rights track record. The Union aims to give a voice to and raise the international profile of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia.
