Aboriginal Elder Speaks out Against NT Intervention

June 21st signals the first anniversary of the Howard Governments Northern Territory Intervention. It’s also a day of review as promised by Kevin Rudd. Conflicting reports have been published since the intervention on whether or not it’s working. Despite the upcoming review, it’s looking increasingly likely that the intervention will spread to Aboriginal communities in Western Australian and New South Wales. Vince Forrester is a long-time land rights activist and an Aboriginal leader from Mutitjulu, an Aboriginal community just outside Uluru. He is in the middle of a tour, speaking out about the intervention.
