Indigenous ex-servicemen marked this year’s ANZAC day by taking part in the second annual Coloured Diggers March. The event honoured the many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who served Australia, dating as far back as the Boar War. Many Aboriginals experienced equality in the armed forces, only to be confronted with racism when they returned home.
