Abe’s in town
Today Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe addressed a joint sitting of Parliament in Canberra. He’s in town to sign a significant trade agreement, which is likely to result in closer security ties between the two countries also. But is it wise for us to become so intertwined with Japan? Japan is a nation whose chequered wartime history has recently resurfaced in its own domestic politics.
