Yesterday the Clean Energy Regulator reported that liable companies had undershot 2016’s renewable energy target by around 10 per cent with two large retailers preferring to pay non-compliance fines instead of buying renewable energy certificates on the market.
What they didn’t report was what advocates say are the lingering effects of the undermining of renewables under the early Abbott government.
