Attorney-General George Brandis seems to have committed the Turnbull government to a plebiscite on same sex marriage by the end of the year if the Government is re-elected. With a recent Ray Morgan poll showing 76 per cent of Australians supported same sex marriage and with a plebiscite estimated to cost $160 million, many have questioned whether the cost is warranted.
