Scientists from all over the world are in Australia this week looking at contamination as a global issue, at the Contaminated Sites Remediation Conference. Professor Nigel Bell says massive increases in vehicle fumes in developing cities are causing a low level ozone layer which drifts over the countryside and lowers crop production. This kind of pollution is set to double by the end of this century. Professor Ravi Naidu says it is time to consider an international treaty on all forms of pollution.
