We know what an optimist is, but what about a soroptimist? Soroptimist International is a rotary-like group for women, taking action to improve the status of women worldwide. Margaret Lobo has been a soroptimist for thirty years and she’s now the International President. She’s now using Soroptimist International to fund Fistula hospitals in Ethopia. These Fistula hospitals have become a well known charity, initiated by the now ninety-seven-year-old Doctor Catherine Hamlin. They are able to transform the lives of young Ethiopian women by a simple procedure which repairs damage caused in childbirth. Having just visited Ehtiopia, Margaret spoke about these Fistula Hospitals and the situation over there.
