A social networking site is infiltrating Australian hospitals. It’s called Livewire, and it’s all about connecting young people living with chronic illness. The initiative is currently running in 26 hospitals, and by the end of the year it will have spread to 35 around the country. It’s like Facebook only with greater privacy and security- it has chat rooms, blogs, forums and games. And it’s making a big difference to the young people already using it.
