Academic and activist Anita Heiss’s recent two books are quite a departure from her more serious publications on racism and the Stolen Generation. They are sassy novels about women and dating dilemmas rather in the style of Sex in the City, but starring indigenous young women as the main characters. She says they’re an accessible way to highlight the issues that face young indigenous women.
