The Million Dollar Vax competition was launched on Monday, a lottery campaign aimed at accelerating Australia’s vaccination rates, with a grand prize of $1 million. Throughout October, the Million Dollar Vax competition will be giving away a pool of prizes worth $4.1 million, with daily giveaways of $1000 gift cards, in addition to the million-dollar grand prize.

The initiative has been funded by Million Dollar Vax Alliance, a group of Australian philanthropists and corporations. CEO of Philanthropy Australia, Jack Heath says the campaign is not to convince people to be vaccinated, but rather encourage people to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
