The brutal attack of 7th  October is bound to create a new crisis in the Middle East.  With multi layered issues going back thousands of years, it is hard to understand how people can live together.

David D’Vash is a farmer on the Northern Rivers of NSW .  But many years ago he was a young soldier in The Israeli army as a 19 year old in the Yom Kippur war.   This war was a surprise attack simultaneously by Egypt and Syria on the 6th of October 1973.  There are similarities currently but the new conflict is not with armies, but a terrorist organisation that is largely underground.

The only hope is that there is a new Mandela that can bring people together.
