Are we living in a truly equal society? That is the question professor Alison Mackinnon, of the University of South Australia, will be asking at a lecture in Adelaide next week. She says despite the fact female education has changed significantly over the past 30 years, and for the better, women are still facing equality problems in the workforce. They have the education and conviction to go far in their chosen careers, but what happens when they want to start a family? Professor Mackinnon spoke to The Wire about her area of study, and just how different life is for women now compared to only a generation ago.
