At least one head has rolled and others are on the chopping block as the Cole Inquiry tries to work out exactly what has been going on at the top end of Australia’s wheat industry. At the other end of the industry wheat farmer Neil Smith says farmers have been wary of the wheat board ever since it was privatised in the 1990’s and that most would like to see some competition return to the marketing of wheat, something they are used to dealing with when exporting other grains.
