The Australian Associated Press will close its New Zealand Newswire, with financial problems affecting the viability of the branch.
The NZ Newswire opened in 2011, filling the void left by the closure of the 132-year-old New Zealand Press Association.
Currently employing 14 journalists, the NZ Newswire will close its doors at the end of April.
