6AR to be returned to the Aboriginal Community

As the National Indigenous Broadcasting Review is taking place all Community radio stations are assessing how they serve their local Indigenous community.The Western Australian Aboriginal Media Association(WAAMA) has been under the microscope since August 2003. Lyn Maddock spokeperson for the Australian Communication and Media authority found that the Perth Radio station 6AR breached the conditions of it’s community broadcasting licence. Dennis Eggington stated that the decision recognised the value of community radio for local Aboriginal communities.
