24 year old Rodrigo Herrera doesn’t speak a word of Spanish and has lived in Australia since he was 6. But because his parents forgot to write his name on a form, he may be deported to Chile. Appearing before a federal court today, Rodrigo Herrera’s lawyers attempted to quash the deportation order that is threatening to send him into exile. Shefah Szetu spoke to Herrera’s lawyer Ezequiel Trumper. Following the hearing, judgment was reserved, which means the defendent is still awaiting a decision.
