Olympic fever is in the air…but so is the Zika virus.

The virus is rife in Brazil, home to the 2016 world games, and is now a known cause of microcephaly.

So, does this mean Aussies should avoid travelling to Rio to spectate? And what about the athletes who have waited four years for a shot at Olympic gold?

Dr Cameron Webb, a University of Sydney Medical Entomologist, allays public fears about this mosquito-borne hazard, and offers some tips for those braving the South American stands this August.
