With school, study, body image, exams, coping with stress: it’s no wonder young Australians are increasingly experiencing psychological distress.

Almost 1 in 5 young people aged 15-19 have mental health issues, a 5.5% rise since 2012, and 75% of lasting mental illnesses develop before the age of 25, according to a report by Mission Australia and the Black Dog Institute.

More must be done to help students cope with stress and understand their emotions, and Sue Langley’s happiness tips may be the answer to put more smiles on young faces.
