President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the United States would withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, saying it was “defective at its core”.

The agreement was made in 2015 between Iran and the P5+1, which is the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, France, and China, plus Germany.

President Trump’s withdrawal leaves question marks over the future of the deal.
