Since the use of military has been allowed by the United Nations to establish a no fly zone over Libya, America has taken the lead of operations there. However, Obama has now made it clear that he wants to let France or England take control. His administration has been claiming that it’s because he doesn’t want those in the Middle East to think the U.S has imperial ambitions in the area, but that might not be the only reason. Dr Anthony Ashbolt, Senior Lecturer of U.S politics at Woolongong University, told the Wire’s Carly Nason why he thinks Obama’s concerns lie a little closer to home.
