The untamed politics of Canberra are hurting our society, according to new research from Monash University. The Mapping Social Cohesion report, released this week, surveyed 2000 people across Australia. It revealed that Australians were proud of their way of life, but also discriminate against others based on ethnicity. We’re also not volunteering as much as we used to. Author of the survey, Professor Andrew Markus, says that our politicians behavior in Canberra is starting to govern our attitudes to each other as well.
