This week the West Australian parliament passed historic legislation through their lower house. This legislation, if passed through the senate, will see the preamble of the W-A constitution amended to recognise Aboriginal peoples as the first peoples of Western Australia. And it’s sure to revive a conversation about the recognition of Aboriginal peoples in the Australian constitution.
