“Strong Eyes, Strong Communities” is the name of Vision 2020’s new 5 year plan to close the eye health gap in Australia and end preventable blindness for Indigenous Australians.

As Australia’s peak body for the eye sector, the organisation is calling for $86 million dollars in funding to increase the accessibility of eye health services and provide culturally safe and sensitive care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

Aims include raising awareness of services for communities, increasing local and regional support for those requiring treatment, and eliminating major eye disease, Trachoma by 2020.
